They probably do have intact-friendly doctors everywhere, but not all are listed on this site....you just have to ask the doctor and make sure they know you ARE the mother and that you WONT let them change your mind. We have to reinforce and I also heard of some that mothers actually changed the minds of some peds outlook of leaving boys intact because it was her first patient that was intact and now she is an inactivist herself, too! Just ask and report!

I'm trying to help my boyfriend find a doctor as he has a problem and the last one he saw recommended he get a circumcision even though he couldn't even give him a diagnosis. I'm looking for someone in the Springfield, MA area where he currently resides, or the Cincinnati, OH area because he will soon be relocating.

These doctors need to be recognized with a dignity. Nowadays there is very few of the doctors who behave friendly with the patients. It is highly rare where we see a doctor who gives utmost care to his patients. Thank you for sharing this post.

So what do we do? Our son (who is 15) has a bit of phimosis (nothing HE's troubled by, he can keep perfectly clean, has no problems with tightness, can retract when he's not fully erect), but that's not the issue. The issue? He suffered a penile injury a few months back--probably a suspensory ligament injury. We finally gave up on the family practitioner and took him to a urologist today. A urologist who IMMEDIATELY started pushing for circumcision. Our boy said "absolutely not," but here's my fear (and his)--what if this requires surgery? What if we sign a release stating that this guy can do what he feels is necessary to fix the ligament injury and he decides, while our son is under anesthesia, that circumcision is necessary? We're in Northern Virginia, and we tried Dr. Gibbons' office, but they refused to see us, they only deal with infants. What do we do?

Yes, I am aware, thank you. I'm well informed--my problem is I can't find a DOCTOR in my area, covered by my insurance, AND not circumcision-happy. My son needs medical attention and all they want tondo is mangle his foreskin because that's how they do it around here.
