Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon: Writer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, and Narrator Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon grew up in an Orthodox Jewish household in Brookline, MA. When he was 13 Eliyahu’s family moved to Israel where he lived until he was 19. He next enrolled in medical school in the United Kingdom, but three years into his M.D. degree Eliyahu decided to abandon Medicine and follow his dream of becoming a filmmaker. Eliyahu has since earned two degrees from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Cut is his first feature-length film.

Cut: Slicing Through the Myths of Circumcision is a powerful film. It takes a critical look at circumcision, and specifically at how it's viewed within the Jewish community. It explores the conflict between personal ethics and what some people have been told is a religious obligation. Below, you can watch a one hour abridged version of this film to get a sense of how it can open people's eyes. For more info you can visit the film's website at www.cutthefilm.com and see videos of discussions at previous screenings. You can check out the Facebook event for the tour here.

Thanks to the many generous contributions of our members, we are now able to have the film maker Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon go on a nation-wide tour and have screenings and discussions in more than twenty-five cities and towns. His presence will help us draw large and diverse crowds, and enable many people to think about this issue in a whole new way for the first time ever. (Or maybe just really think about it at all for the first time.) It will also allow us to start building a large grassroots activist base around the country.

We reached our fundraising goal, but we are still taking donations to help cover any unexpected costs. Any donations that aren't used in the tour will be put toward future projects at The WHOLE Network. Please click below to donate via Paypal, or you can donate via money order/check mailed to: The WHOLE Network, PO Box 3054, Broken Arrow, OK 74011.
